Minutes for the October meeting added.

A few members of the group attended this years national conference held at the Hippodrome in Birmingham. As usual this was a well organised event. It gave all of us who attended a chance to catch up with old friends, meet some new ones and listen to some very well written and informative lectures, as well as the opportunity of meeting with the staff from the Association.

Professor Barry Hancock's discussion on 21 years of treating Lymphoma was particularly entertaining, delivered in a very witty comical style.

On a very personal level it was nice for myself to be able to meet again with Dr Prem Mahendra, who delivered a talk on the treatment of aggressive lymphoma.

It was Dr Mahendra who along with her team of dedicated staff delivered Michaela's bone marrow transplant. I will remain forever indebted to her and her staff for the hard work and professionalism shown during the 18 months or so that Michaela was under Dr Mahendra's care.

The May meeting will be attended by a representative from The Arden Cancer Network.

Hopefully you will all have seen the BBC Lifeline appeal which was screened on 18 February and repeated 21 February. The programme was exceptionally informative about Lymphoma and has hopefully helped raise the profile of the disease as well as that of the association. I hope it has also helped to generate some much needed extra funds.

Included on the programme was a short snippet of our last support group meeting in February, fame at last for some of us !
