Kenilworth Half Marathon

On 8th October 2006 Nathan and two of his friends from work, Sarah Habberley and Liz Hindmarsh took part in the Kenilworth Half Marathon to raise funds for the Lymphoma Association. Nathan expects the amount raised to be in excess of £1,200. The 3 of them were joined by Rich Mason who was using the event as a warm up to once again run in the Stroud half marathon.

All 4 runners posted times under 2 hours which is an excellent achievement considering that Nathan, Sarah and Liz have never run that distance before.

Nathan would like to convey his heartfelt thanks to Sarah and Liz for encouraging him to take part in the event as well as helping with his training. The day was a very special day for Nathan as it would have marked his late wife Michaela's 34th birthday.

Photos of the event can be found by clicking here.

Stroud Half Marathon

On 23rd October 2005 Richard Mason, a good friend and ex colleague of Nathan's together with Michaela's cousin, Debbie Burton took part in the Stroud half marathon.

Richard is a former Hodgkin Lymphoma patient himself and it is now 6 years since he successfully went into remission following a stem cell transplant. Debbie is a police constable in Coventry and for some time has been looking for a way of raising funds for the Lymphoma Association as she has seen all the good work that they have done for her cousin.

Richard was going to split his sponsorship between The Lymphoma Association and Cancer Research.

Between the two of them they have raised a sizeable sum (still to be confirmed) for the association, which brings Coventry's fundraising exploits this year to well over the £1000 mark. This is a tremendous achievement for a group which is still in its infancy.
