What is Lymphoma ?

Lymphoma is a cancerous condition of the Lymphatic System, it is split into two different categories.

What is the Lymphatic System ?

The tissues and organs that produce, store, and carry white blood cells that fight infection and other diseases. This system includes the bone marrow, spleen, thymus, and lymph nodes and a network of vessels that carry lymph and white blood cells into all the tissues of the body.

The two categories are

Hodgkin Lymphoma & Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma

Each of the two separate diseases are then divided into various sub-categories.

Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma is graded as either 'high grade' or 'low grade' depending on how rapidly the disease develops.

		Radiotherapy fact file	A booklet which details treatment using radiation. How radiotherapy is planned and how the treatment is given along with the side effects.

		Hormones fact file	Lymphoma treatment may cause hormonal changes within the body. This booklet details some of those changes and how they can be dealt with.

		Technical Terms fact file	A booklet which explains some of the technical terms that you may hear your consultant use.

		Blood Tests fact file	A useful booklet which explains what is looked at in blood tests, and what the blood is made up of.
